About the Role
This Production Manager role will focus on being an advocate and support for the Corporate WIN Strategy by managing and improving the quality, cost, delivery, morale, and safety of the department. The main focus of this position will be driving meaningful progress in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Supervisory responsibilities include training and developing team members, delegating work assignments, coaching and counseling employees, and administering disciplinary procedures up to and including written warnings. The employee will have the responsibility and authority to identify the status of production materials and take action as defined in controlled plans and work instructions. This role involves interaction with employees at all levels of the organization, customers, and outside contacts.
Responsibilities
- Work with team members to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Constantly identify and eliminate waste in assigned departments.
- Champion Lean Kaizen events to identify cost and time savings.
- Participate in cost-reduction programs.
- Ensure quality standards are met, emphasizing continuous improvement to enhance manufacturing capability and reduce rework and scrap.
- Contain the source of quality issues and communicate with customers to establish and maintain effective relationships.
- Coordinate corrective action activities.
- Perform capacity analysis using build plans and determine staffing requirements for the assigned production area.
- Ensure departmental productivity targets are met to fulfill customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot scheduling and material issues.
- Develop and deploy standardized work instructions for assigned department(s).
- Ensure process stability through following standardized work.
- Promote and enforce compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety investigations and audits, and address safety non-compliance.
- Maintain Operation Showcase.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- 2-3 years of previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to effectively work with people in a team environment and at various levels of the organization.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
