About the role
This position is responsible for performing functions as designated in the Production Mechanic II role, along with major troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of production equipment. The employee will work in both primary packaging rooms (exposed product) and secondary packaging rooms (no exposed product) as required.
Responsibilities
- Perform major troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of production equipment.
- Perform equipment setup, including tooling installation, roll changes, clearing jams, equipment challenges, and teardowns.
- Pull and verify equipment reports.
- Perform equipment preventative maintenance in line with designated job cards.
- Operate primary and secondary production equipment in accordance with SOPs when required.
- Perform cleaning of product contact parts per defined cleaning procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Mechanical/Electrical degree or training, or Technical/Trade School Degree (preferred).
- 3 to 5 years' experience as a production mechanic, operator, or set-up person in a manufacturing company.
- At least 2 years performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Pharmaceutical packaging or similar GMP experience.
- General industrial mechanics and electrical troubleshooting on production equipment.
Preferred Experience
- Electrical wiring and controls experience.
- Pneumatics and hydraulics experience.
- Vision inspection system experience.
- Blister forming experience.
- Bottle filling experience.
- PLC Programming and troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and controls.
Required Knowledge
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Understanding of hand and power tools, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
Preferred Knowledge
- Pharmaceutical processing equipment in a GMP environment.
