About the role
Almac Group is seeking a 1st shift Production Mechanic 2 for our Audubon, PA location. The Production Mechanic performs activities in support of production operations, including set-up, changeover, machine reporting, first-level equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance of production equipment.
Responsibilities
- Set-up and teardown of production equipment as per approved procedures, including:
- All setup/teardown activities performed according to approved procedures.
- Documentation of all setup/teardown activities on associated batch records.
- Printing and attaching required machine reports to batch records in accordance with approved procedures.
- Completion of preventative maintenance on all production equipment as per approved work orders.
- Responding to production calls for high-level troubleshooting of production equipment. If root cause cannot be determined within given timelines, follow engineering escalation plans.
- Identifying continuous improvement initiatives to minimize production downtime and optimize machine utilization.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years' experience as a production mechanic, operator, or set-up person in a manufacturing company.
- General industrial mechanics and electrical troubleshooting on production equipment.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Understanding the use of hand and power tools, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience / Education:
- Technical or Trade School Degree.
- Pharmaceutical packaging experience.
- Electrical wiring and controls experience.
- Pneumatics and hydraulics experience.
- Vision inspection system experience.
- Blister forming experience.
- Bottle filling experience.
- PLC Programming and troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and controls.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
