About the role
Oversee daily production operations to achieve targets related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency
Lead, develop, and manage production teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Establish and prioritize manufacturing schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and operational constraints
Monitor production metrics and performance data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to optimize workflows and resource utilization
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as quality management systems
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured methodologies
Develop long-term production strategies, including capital planning and process enhancements
Manage staffing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations within the department
Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure on-time delivery and operational alignment

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing or production leadership roles
- Proven ability to lead teams in high-volume, fast-paced production environments
- Strong background in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Expertise in analyzing performance metrics and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, or similar frameworks)
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to mentor teams and develop future leaders
