Essential Functions
- Manage day-to-day operations of the PCBA production floor, including SMT, through-hole, and final assembly processes.
- Supervise and mentor production area managers, leads, and operators. Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Align and focus the team on improvement across SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) and take actions to ensure goals are achieved.
- Develop and execute plans to attract, on-board, and train talented front-line associates, providing opportunities for skill building, cross-training, and advancement into Leads and Area Manager roles.
- Cook up production schedules to align with customer delivery requirements, manage capacity to meet or exceed demand, and adjust staffing, hours worked, and other factors to accommodate growth at high levels of service.
- Work closely with the Quality team to ensure compliance with IPC standards, ISO certifications, and customer-specific requirements.
- Implement lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Ensure all production equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams for upgrades and repairs.
- Support customer audits, visits, and technical discussions as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Oversee various positions, including Production, including Area Managers, Leads, and operators.
- Responsible for the performance management of these employees.
Physical Demands
- Sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, use fine hand motor skills/dexterity, use repetitive motions, lift and/or move up to 15 lbs.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required.
Required Education and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in electronics or PCBA manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of SMT, reflow, through hole hand, wave soldering, AOI/X-ray inspection, and box build processes.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production analytics tools.
