About the role

The Production Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing process to ensure efficient, high-quality production output. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of production, including planning, scheduling, and managing resources to meet production targets and deadlines. The Production Manager will lead a team of production staff, fostering a safe and productive work environment while implementing continuous improvement initiatives. They will collaborate closely with other departments such as quality assurance, supply chain, and maintenance to streamline operations and resolve any production issues promptly. Ultimately, the role aims to maximize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and company goals.
  • Supervise and lead production teams, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure quality standards and operational efficiency.
  • Cook up with procurement and inventory teams to ensure availability of raw materials and supplies.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, equipment malfunctions, and workflow inefficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the production area.
  • Analyze production data and prepare reports to inform management decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing management role.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional certification (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar manufacturing software.
  • Background in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Kaizen.
  • Experience managing production in a multi-shift or 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision making.

Skills

  • Leadership and communication skills to motivate and coordinate production teams.
  • Analytical skills to interpret production data, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment for troubleshooting and workflow optimization.
  • Proficiency with production planning and ERP software for accurate scheduling and resource allocation.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety standards for a compliant and secure workplace environment.
