We are partnering with a family-owned manufacturing company in Madison, WI to find a hands-on, results-driven Production Manager. This role offers ownership of the full production process in a well-established, employee-focused environment.
About the role
Lead daily production operations, driving efficiency, quality, and team performance. You’ll oversee planning, scheduling, execution, and continuous improvement while developing and leading a production team in a collaborative manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage daily production schedules to ensure timely completion of products
- Monitor production processes and adjust workflows as needed to meet deadlines
- Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to ensure products meet specifications, materials, and quality standards
- Partner with internal departments including customer service, purchasing, warehousing, and shipping
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
- Drive production efficiency and reduce waste through continuous improvement efforts
- Analyze production data and provide reports to leadership
- Lead and develop production staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Facilitate daily and weekly production meetings
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
- Support employee engagement, morale, and recognition initiatives
- Implement and maintain best practices for manufacturing processes
Requirements
- Proven experience in production or operations management
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety standards
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with production management tools and ERP systems
- Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, business, or a related field preferred
