Production Manager Job

Division: Bostik | Region: Americas | Reports to: Plant Manager | Direct reports: Three production supervisors and associated operators.

About the role

Provides leadership, direction, and management for all aspects of production activities, overseeing production operations and manufacturing processes. Owns responsibility for safe manufacturing operations and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, and develops capacity and staffing models needed to meet production targets for the site.

Responsibilities

• Manage production resources to meet operational objectives.
• Develop, institute, and maintain an ever‑improving EHS program to achieve zero safety or environmental incidents while complying with PSM requirements where applicable.
• Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA, EPA guidelines, and Arkema/Bostik specific EHS expectations.
• Manage execution of the daily production schedule.
• Coach, train, and develop team members in accordance with corporate policies, including EHS management, MOC system, and documented management system procedures.
• Continuously measure and improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate production with purchasing, logistics, and maintenance departments.
• Ensure fulfillment of all required EHS and quality training for subordinates.
• Assure compliance with all company policies and best practices.
• Engage in active collaboration with corporate functions (EHS, Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, HR, Supply Chain, etc.) to achieve metrics and desired results.
• Drive continuous improvement activities, including improving housekeeping, efficiency, and reliability.
• Lead production activities to meet plant and business objectives.

Context and environment

A fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment where the role involves a wide variety of functions and activities, both within and outside the plant. Heavy use of PC‑based software combined with frequent interpersonal communication. Approximately 50 % of time is spent on the shop floor to best manage hourly operators and overall operations.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in supervision, operations management, and/or engineering.
• Project management, process engineering, and regulatory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a team environment.
• Adaptable to change and skilled at leading change through direct reporting relationships and functional influence.
• Experience with Lean/6 Sigma manufacturing.
• Ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
