Production Manager - Coppell, TX
About the role
Rohde & Schwarz is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our system production team. This position requires effective collaboration with service, production, engineering, and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who leverages data and analysis to inform decision-making and a dynamic leader skilled in implementing solutions within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Responsibilities
- Management of our system production team including Assembly Technicians, Production Planners and Manufacturing Process Engineers.
- Manage all aspects of the production process, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently while meeting quality and customer expectations.
- Work closely with Integration Cells to provide a seamless flow of products to systems.
- Lead and monitor production employees including Assembly, Test, Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Control (PPIC) employees, including temporary staff.
- Execute production plan by scheduling staff/tasks to meet production goals and objectives.
- Maintain requirements for safety, reliability and compliance for ISO 9001 & AS9100.
- Train, coach, and evaluate staff and recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions.
- Observe conditions of production floor to identify improvement opportunities and make suggestions for improvement.
- Managing and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.
- Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
- Leading production teams, optimizing workflows, and collaborating across departments to ensure on-time delivery, safety compliance, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a Production Management role in an audited QMS environment.
- Leadership experience with a diversified team working with cross-functional areas such as engineering, procurement and project management.
- Manufacturing Engineering Experience focusing on Product Standardization and Process Design including interface to Master Data.
- User experience with SAP or similar ERP/MRP system.
- Excellent troubleshooting experience, ability to develop and use systemic procedures to find faults in products.
- Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing or Toyota Production System environment.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
- Ability to articulate concepts, ideas, financial and production status to a wide variety of Stakeholders.
Benefits
The total compensation for this position is $131K-$175K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
