Production Manager
About the role
This position is responsible for managing production processes to ensure attainment of established goals for the facility, division, and Company. The role supports operational goals through the implementation of the company's vision and strategy, and drives site production, quality, safety, and compliance efforts via continuous improvement activities. The position provides direct management of production supervisors.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (Occasional Night Shift as Needed). 5% travel required. Eligible for bonus and long-term incentive compensation awards based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership to production supervisors
- Accountable for production and shipping schedules, maintaining quality, controlling manufacturing costs, and promoting good employee and community relationships
- Analyze and plan for production workforce requirements
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
- Ensure effective and safe use of manufacturing equipment
- Support facility safety initiatives
- Monitor quality and productivity to ensure service and cost objectives are met
- Manage employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
- Conduct regular communication meetings with workforce to enhance BMS (Business Management System) and Operational Excellence
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Must have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
- Must have a bachelor's degree or higher or have at least four (4) years of work experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams
- Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.)
- At least three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
- Prior work experience using timekeeping and/or production control systems
- Prior work experience using a safety management system
- Previous work experience in a multi-shift operation
