About the role

At Janicki Industries, we turn complex ideas into real-world solutions through advanced engineering and manufacturing. Our teams design and build innovative structures, tooling, and systems that support industries including aerospace, space, defense, marine, and architecture. The Production Manager will oversee daily production processes associated with machining composite, metal, ceramic, and hybrid parts and tooling. The position requires considerable skill in workflow planning and the coordination of multiple projects to achieve maximum efficiency. Strong people management skills and the ability to communicate across multiple organizational boundaries and disciplines are critical. The Production Manager is responsible for management of up to 25 personnel on multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning, ability to schedule and focus on productivity
  • Direct and lead a team of employees
  • Interface and work with Project Teams to support scheduling requirements and priorities
  • Estimate production times and staffing requirements to provide information for management decisions
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow
  • Ensure adequate resources are available to complete assigned tasks
  • Identify areas for improvement among cell members and implement cross-training to create a more capable and homogenous team
  • Ensure processes and procedures are executed in accordance with project management guidelines
  • Work with Project Managers and Process Engineers to identify and mitigate risk in the production process
  • Perform on-the-job training, AS9100, Nadcap training, and other training as required
  • Take responsibility for maintaining tool inventory and availability within the cell and ensure accountability from individual employees
  • Ensure work orders and proper quantities of materials, components, and tools are available before a project begins
  • Prepare and provide reports for operations management as directed
  • Verify previous cell’s documentation is complete before moving forward
  • Ensure documentation of processes accomplished by work cell is complete, accurate, and timely, including recording NCMR, part tagging, and routing
  • Audit and review work packets with the techs before and during each activity
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must have 3-5 years specialized training after high school or equivalent on-the-job training particular to job description
  • Must have 1-3 years related job experience
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic machining experience including cutter identification, feeds and speeds, and maintenance
  • Must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Must have good communication and team-building skills
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products, SAP, or similar ERP systems
  • Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed
  • Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and require candidate agreement to enter a Continuous Evaluation program

  • Technical or College degree preferred

Pay

Wage range for this role is between $35 - $50 an hour plus a discretionary bonus. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
