Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of hourly production employees and may supervise other production supervisors, material specialists, and manufacturing support roles.
  • Planning, monitoring, executing, and communicating the daily, monthly, and annual production goals.
  • Aids and provides input for the sales and operations plan to meet financial targets and customer service objectives.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders in various departments to coordinate activities affecting the production process.
  • Maintains work areas to meet or exceed company 5S and safety standards.
  • Identifies and leads continuous improvement activities that enhance key performance indicators, improve safety culture, and/or advance team member relations.
  • Participates in root cause analysis on safety incidents to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develops cross-training plans and encourages continued development of team members.
  • Maintains good working knowledge of current labor agreements (where applicable), regional labor policies, and applicable government regulations.
  • Provides input to manufacturing engineering functions to improve productivity, including plant layout, process flow, routings/labor standards, work methods, capital equipment, and quality levels.
  • Represents manufacturing with outside visitors as needed.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 6-8 years of relevant work experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • 4-year / Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations management, engineering, business administration, management, or a related field, or equivalent years of job experience.
  • Continuous improvement training and Lean manufacturing training.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Experience in production planning and execution.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various departments.
  • Knowledge of labor agreements and government regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

The compensation for this role includes a base salary and the opportunity to earn additional variable compensation based on achieving specific performance metrics. The starting base pay range for this position is $114,000-$144,837 and may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
