About the Role
Directs and coordinates day-to-day production activities in conjunction with company KPIs, leading hourly associates to meet company strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Promotes a safe and accident-free workplace.
- Leads a team in a continuous improvement environment to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, and facilities.
- Obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
- Plans and directs production activities, establishing priorities for products to ensure effective operations and cost efficiency.
- Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to optimize production and utilization of resources.
- Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to identify causes of nonconformity and operational problems.
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures to eliminate problems and improve product quality.
- Revises production schedules and priorities due to equipment failure or operational issues.
- Consults with engineering personnel to modify machines and equipment for improved production and quality.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced professional environment.
- Must interface professionally with others.
Skills
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret CST, customer prints, and documents; write routine reports professionally.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole, fractional, and decimal numbers.
- Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; handle problems involving variables in standardized situations; make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.
- Computer Skills: Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Physical Demands
- Walk and move about inside manufacturing, office, and occasionally construction or outdoor areas.
- Use hands/fingers to operate computers, machinery, and dimensional equipment.
- Sit and stand for extended periods, including working at a stationary desk or on a concrete floor and uneven terrain.
- Climb stairs and ladders; balance on uneven surfaces.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Talk and hear to communicate frequently with operators and management.
- Lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
- Noisy and non-air-conditioned work area.
- Busy forklift traffic zones.
