About the role

The Production Manager manages the placement, execution, and follow-up of manufacturing orders to drive the on-time delivery of quality, profitable goods. Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Innovation
    • Manages factory base for competitive edge in quality and delivery, collaborating with design, product development, and senior management.
    • Evaluates and manages vendor performance based on purchase order history, including on-time delivery, lead time, quality acceptance rates, fulfillment, and margins.
    • Streamlines the factory base with cross-functional teams to maximize product execution and company deliverables.
  • Operations and Results
    • Manages on-time placement of final buys, tracks work-in-progress (WIP) and production from handoff to final deliveries, and ensures all necessary approvals are obtained.
    • Manages non-compliance/claims chargebacks with vendors and coordinates customs classification with Imports.
    • Assists in pricing negotiations to ensure profitability for volume buys.
    • Partners with Merchandising, PD/Design, and Sales to ensure correct product execution, margin goals, and delivery.
    • Ensures timely handoff of development into production and enforces production standards across categories and vendors.
    • Attends approval meetings and works closely with Design and/or PD to ensure on-time approvals.
    • Executes quality control initiatives, including QA analysis and solutions.
    • Troubleshoots quality and technical issues with factories, mills, vendors, and teams.
    • Advises management on capacity planning and performance management by sourcing office, region, country, and vendor.
    • Contributes accurate information for costing models and advises on raw material commitments.
    • Allocates production across vendors and reserves production space based on vendors’ achievement of production standards.
    • Creates approved vendor matrix and production capacity portfolio.
  • Customers & Relationships
    • Partners with cross-functional peers, customers, Sales, Merchandising, and Operations, as well as vendors and factories, to ensure on-time flow of goods relative to orders and demand criteria.
    • Coordinates interoffice communication and follow-up with internal and external contacts regarding production.
    • Performs special projects as assigned and travels to factories as appropriate.
  • Leadership & Teams
    • Contributes positively to team dynamics and manages up and across where necessary.
    • Attracts, develops, and retains talent; monitors, evaluates, and coaches staff for bench strength and succession planning.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in production management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, including construction, compliance, and lab testing.
  • Familiarity with line plans, T&A Calendar, WIP, and Pivot table reports.
  • Strong proficiencies in SAP, PLM, Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams, and Adobe products.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Pay

Salary Range: $85,000–$90,000. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate of what candidates are likely to expect. Offers are tailored within this range based on the selected candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors. Base salary is part of a total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, annual bonus, and other sponsored benefit programs.
