About the role
Cold Spring Brewing is a leader in contract beverage production, serving customers nationwide from its state-of-the-art facilities in the Southeast, Southwest, and Midwest. This Production Manager position is responsible for assisting the Bottle Shop Production Manager and Production Supervisors in training new employees, ensuring plant processes meet customer expectations, and achieving productivity goals.
Responsibilities
- Affirm changes to technology and systems, changes to business processes, and changes in organizational structure and job roles.
- Strive for quick adoption of change and ensure efficient understanding and training to achieve organizational proficiency.
- Manage, train, and schedule production team for assigned shifts.
- Assist in proper production crewing to maintain labor costs and efficiencies.
- Coordinate with necessary departments to develop procedures affecting production.
- Evaluate and continuously improve production processes.
- Recommend and initiate personnel actions for hourly employees, including hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary measures.
- Evaluate and monitor operations, systems, and facilities to ensure highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
- Learn and apply new packaging procedures that benefit the company.
- Aid in scheduling production to ensure efficient use of production lines and personnel.
- Attend department head meetings to stay informed about production area issues or concerns.
- Provide training on new processes and equipment, including self-study.
- Act as liaison for production processes during customer and vendor visits.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical background and ability to troubleshoot.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors, customers, and visitors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of GMP and/or HACCP regulations.
- Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in a high-speed production environment.
- Previous lead/management experience.
