Job Description
The Production Manager is responsible for the daily operations of plant production. Ensuring policies and procedures are followed and work to maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. Responsible for the leadership of assigned employees and all processes related to safety, customer satisfaction, productivity and resources.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant.
- Responsible for the safety of all employees through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
- Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
- Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws
- Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
- Completes incident investigations and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
- Directs all production activities through the Production Supervisors and coordinates inter-departmental activities with other department heads.
- Plans department expense budget and the method of operation to remain within the budget and assures cost control and cost improvement projects.
- Serves as a backup to the Plant Manager and approves departmental operating procedures.
- Maintains an efficient workforce through communication, developing and training of personnel.
- Controls all raw materials and finished goods within the production area.
- Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
- Supports facility ISO/SQF program.

Educational, Skill, & Physical Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field, and 5+ years of successful experience in a manufacturing environment or a combination of education and experience.
- Enclosed office space with frequent daily exposure to warehouse and production floor; able to wear all required PPE.
