About the role
Valence Surface Technologies is a full-service surface finishing company specializing in the commercial aerospace, defense, space, and satellite industries. With ten strategically located sites across the United States, Valence provides a start-to-finish solution from NDT and chemical processing to paint and sub-assembly.
This role involves planning and coordination of all production activities to ensure the company’s production targets are met.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently organize and prioritize daily activities to accomplish goals; coordinate and schedule work within and across departments.
- Demand the highest possible quality and excellence in all work processes and individual performance; take personal ownership to ensure the team’s product is of high quality and without defects.
- Facilitate meetings with shift and department supervisors and leads at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Assist supervisors and leads in executing their duties and meeting company and facility goals and objectives.
- Lead the activities of shift and department supervisors in the manufacturing process in accordance with work instructions and company policy to ensure a quality product is delivered on time.
- Identify training needs, manage training programs, and encourage and promote employee development.
- Ensure the appropriate level of accountability for facility goals and objectives at the supervisory level.
- Report general progress of daily production, shipments, and problem areas to the Operations Manager.
- Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, and reporting results of the processing flow on personnel production summaries.
- Enforce and ensure all work areas are maintained and clean by educating and directing personnel on the 6S program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in production management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
- Knowledge of performance evaluation.
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP software.
- Outstanding communication ability.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
