Production Machine Operator on Second Shift

About the role

As a Production Machine Operator at Ascentek, you will perform repetitive workstation or line production operations to mass produce products onto a pallet. You will also receive materials in the production workplace, verify inventory from forklifts using a computerized warehouse management system, maintain accurate inventory, attend informational, training, safety, and compliance meetings, follow written instructions on the work order to produce various products, gather raw materials needed for producing products, help set up production lines, and produce samples for quality inspection. Upon inspection approval, you will produce the product, label it, pack it, and load grouped orders onto pallets. You will report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor, maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, follow prescribed safety regulations, document performance and quality of production line, perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required, complete tasks as directed by production schedules with minimum supervision, utilize all material handling equipment safely and efficiently, perform all required safety checks, and communicate the need for repairs. You will package bulk material as required by a work order, accept schedule and direction when there are changes in workloads, and perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Produce product, label, pack, and stack.
  • Receive materials in the production workplace and verify inventory from forklifts using a computerized warehouse management system.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through the use of a warehouse management system for prompt, timely, and accurate deliveries to customers.
  • Attend informational, training, safety, and compliance meetings as scheduled.
  • Follow written instructions on the work order to produce various products.
  • Gather raw materials needed for producing products, help set up production lines, and produce samples for quality inspection.
  • Upon inspection approval, produce the product, label it, pack it, and load grouped orders onto pallets.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

Requirements

Must have a good command of the English language and the ability to read, communicate, and understand written instructions. Must have troubleshooting mechanical problems on the production line as they occur. Must have understanding of KPMs and manufacturing packaging line processes. Must have General Quality & Safety Awareness. Must have Understanding of Lean Principles. Must have Basic mathematical abilities. Must have Mechanical aptitude. Must have Basic Microsoft Office proficiency. Must have Inventory Management System (JDE) knowledge.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. 1 year of related production line experience.

Skills

Troubleshoot mechanical problems on the production line as they occur. Understand KPMs and manufacturing packaging line processes. Understand Lean Principles. Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Basic mathematical abilities. Mechanical aptitude. Basic Microsoft Office proficiency. Inventory Management System (JDE) knowledge.

The anticipated hiring range for the role is between $20.00 and $24.00 hourly. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below: Experience and qualifications: The depth of relevant experience and specific skills you bring to the position. Second Shift, Monday through Thursday, M-Th 2:45pm-1:15 am
