Production Line Technician - 1st Shift (Zatarains)

Zatarain's, a leader in New Orleans cuisine owned by McCormick & Company, is seeking a Line Technician on the 1st Shift at its Gretna, Louisiana facility. McCormick & Company manufactures, markets, and distributes spices, seasoning mixes, condiments, and other flavorful products globally, serving retail outlets, food manufacturers, and food service businesses.

About the role

The Line Technician ensures the effective operation of the production line to meet company production, budgetary, quality, safety, and waste goals. Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, this role requires attentiveness, multitasking, and adaptability in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The position involves line set-up, equipment operation, quality inspections, and adherence to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

• Set up production lines, perform product changeovers, package size changes, and minor repairs/adjustments on line equipment.
• Operate processing, filling, and packaging production line equipment.
• Conduct quality inspections of products and packaging, including visual checks of raw materials, caps, labels, date codes, weights, packaging, and seals.
• Monitor line team activities to ensure production needs, quality standards, and waste control are met while minimizing downtime.
• Process inventory control transactions using SAP and complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
• Perform allergen clean-up and daily housekeeping duties in the work area.
• Assist in training employees on line equipment operation and company processes.
