About the Role
Novolex is a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging supporting multiple industries including foodservice, restaurant delivery and carryout, food processing, grocery and retail, and industrial sectors. We provide customers a broad array of stock and customized solutions with 120 product categories, 250 brands and over 39,000 SKUs.
Responsibilities
- Provide production support for the entire duration of the shift
- Monitor/maintain and cover 2-3 production lines during shift
- Troubleshoot jams, misfeeds, timing issues, poor seals, and handling problems
- Conduct machine setup, order changes and preventative maintenance
- Set up equipment for product, size, print, and material changes
- Adjust guides, rails, belts, sensors, timing, tension, and registration
- Submit accurate production reports daily and timely
- Comply with and enforce all safety policies and procedures, i.e.: proper PPE usage, machine guarding, LOTO etc. are following strictly
- Ensure adherence to all quality practices and standards
- Follow and enforce all GMP's and SQF requirements
- Support and recommend improvement strategies to improve safety, production output, and quality
- Monitor bags being run, making sure hourly samples are taken in order to inspect quality and catch any defects and unnecessary waste
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management, including food safety
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Complete Level 1 and Level 2 Machine Operator on site as a Jr adjuster to move into Adjuster Supervisor Role
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- 2-5 years Machine Operator experience preferred
- Effective listening, speaking & writing ability in person and on the phone
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and quality instructions, and procedural manuals
- Ability to complete routine reports and records
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to write clearly and concisely, using good grammar and professional style
- Self managing with organization and time management skills
- Must have good eyesight (no colorblindness) in order to spot flaws in color comparison, print set-up, etc. as bags or film come off the production line
Pay
- Starting Pay Rate of $25.00/hour - paid weekly
- Sign-on bonus of $750.00 - paid in installments at 30 days, 90 days, and 6 months
