Production Lead → Production Supervisor

About the role

The Production Lead is responsible for supervising a team of technicians and assemblers during an assigned shift, focusing on composite fabrication, structural assembly, and quality control within an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide production staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards, SOPs, and safety policies.
• Manage daily tasks including work order execution, composite layup, vacuum bagging, curing, trimming, bonding, and vinyl application.
• Conduct quality inspections, document non-conformances, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and assisting in SOP updates.
• Maintain accurate production documentation and coordinate with planning and materials teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and skills development of team members.

Qualifications

Required: 5+ years manufacturing experience with 2+ years in a supervisory role, proficiency in composite fabrication (e.g., prepreg layup, vacuum bagging, cure cycles), ability to interpret engineering drawings, and familiarity with quality control and ERP systems.

Preferred: Experience in aerospace, defense, or UAS manufacturing; knowledge of high-reliability electronic/electromechanical assemblies; AS9100 standards; ability to obtain DOD clearance.

Physical & Safety Requirements

Ability to work on the manufacturing floor, handle tools and materials, perform repetitive motions, lift up to 50 pounds with assistance, and wear PPE in a potentially hazardous environment.
