Production Lead (Night Shift)

About the role
The Shift Lead will coordinate and oversee production operations involved in the manufacturing process, including direct or indirect supervision of hourly production employees and personnel working on off shifts.
Responsibilities
- Follow plans and schedules of operations in coordination with maintenance, quality control, shipping, and production personnel
- Establish, assign, and communicate job responsibilities and schedules for shift personnel directly involved in the production process
- Supervise and evaluate job performance
- Order safety equipment needed for production department employees
- Conduct safety inspections per safety guidelines to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Review production data and prepare reports as requested by management
- Assist production personnel and other plant personnel to resolve problems and ensure satisfactory production operations
- Assist plant management in resolving union problems and grievances
- Order tools and supplies needed for use in the manufacturing process
- Request and supervise repairs and preventive maintenance performed on machinery used in production operations
- Perform other duties related to the nature of the job as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or two years of college, technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 or more years of experience in production with emphasis on process control in a similar industry
- Ability to lead and manage others
- Effective conflict management skills
