About the role
The Production Lead, Digital Print plays a key role in ensuring work moves efficiently through the press area so projects are completed accurately and on time for Smartpress customers. This position serves as a subject matter expert on digital print equipment and processes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the routing of jobs to and from the digital presses while actively operating equipment and completing production work tied to job tickets.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on digital print equipment and processes.
- Provide valuable feedback to leadership on team training progress and skill development.
- Ensure quality and production standards are met, performing quality checks prior to shipment.
- Coordinate closely with Customer Service Representatives and managers, and help troubleshoot issues.
- Enter rework tickets when needed and support root cause analysis efforts to continuously improve processes and reduce future rework.
Requirements
- Able to successfully collaborate with people across several functions within the organization to achieve results, including senior leadership, Sales, Prepress, Cutting, Kitting, Shipping, and other departments.
- Able to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Able to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and effectively.
- Able to make proactive design decisions and move forward with projects based on available information; able to think analytically and make a decision from many alternatives.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Experience in supervising/leading a team.
Qualifications
- Work closely with manager, and other shift leadership in prioritizing and directing department work flow.
- Support safe environment, driving towards 0 OSHA recordables & maintain high quality standards.
- Maintain appropriate levels of supplies to meet production requirements.
- Monitor issues and receipts for work orders.
- Establish open lines of communication with the production floor.
- Represent corporate policy and communicate to employees as required.
- Ensure training and skills matrix are in compliance with training policy & work to further develop team’s skill.
- Drive improvements in material flow, including cell design and material delivery.
- Interact with other support departments as required driving out costs where possible.
- Complete and quality check each job according to ticket specifications, producing quality work.
- Learn existing equipment and train and learn on new equipment.
- Troubleshoot production problems to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
- Put away stock on shelves, break down boxes and clean up after shift.
- Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management.

Pay
$44,460 to $48,166 annually
Schedule
Shift available: Sunday - Tuesday 6:00 pm - 6:00 am (36-hour work week- Three 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule every 4 months. Overtime Eligible.)
