About the role
The Bernard Group is seeking a Production Lead to join our Cutting Department. This role is a working lead role, requiring the ability to train and evaluate team members, complete quality checks, and liaise with customers.
Responsibilities
- Train new and existing employees on machine set-up and process flow
- Learn and train on new equipment
- Ensure last quality check before shipment
- Communicate with CSR and managers to ensure job success
- Support a safe environment, driving towards 0 OSHA recordables
- Maintain high quality standards
- Monitor and maintain appropriate supply levels
- Establish and maintain communication with production floor
- Represent corporate policy and communicate as required
- Work towards continuous improvement by monitoring efficiency and productivity
- Implement improvements in material flow, including cell design and material delivery
- Interact with other support departments to drive out costs
- Complete miscellaneous projects and tasks as requested
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Previous work experience in printing, print operations, cutting, or machine operations (a plus)
- OSHA 10 Hour certification (a plus)
- Pay close attention to details
- Basic computer skills, including ePace and Google
- Self-motivated, fast learner, and initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs
- Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage work
- Work independently, make decisions, and solve problems creatively
- Complete projects accurately within deadlines, meeting quality standards
- Apply effective time management and self-management skills
- Understand and maintain the confidentiality of company, employee, and customer information
Qualifications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated listening skills and ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform long hours of work, operate equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, check color quality, read a ruler, and use manual dexterity and visual acuity
- Willingness to admit mistakes and be adaptable
- Fiercely loyal to both customers and team
