About the role
Accountable for maintaining a safe, quality-oriented, and efficient work environment during assigned shifts while ensuring fair and equitable treatment for all employees and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Manage production floor responsibilities, including standardization of manpower utilization, material efficiencies, and documented quality evaluation to maximize capabilities.
- Ensure accurate and timely input into the Mattec system for corrections or improvements.
- Foster a productive, proactive work environment through ongoing training and development of team members.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the shift, ensuring professional competence and skill for all assigned responsibilities.
- Standardize daily production to exceed customer expectations.
- Provide detailed shift-to-shift notes, documenting problems and corrective actions taken during the shift.
- Submit reports and documentation as required by policy or requested by staff.
- Coordinate with supervisors, managers, and departments to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
- Distribute and prioritize work assignments for the production team, following through until completion.
- Provide timely information for performance reviews, evaluations, and recommendations for corrective actions or promotions.
- Maintain enforcement of and compliance with policies and procedures to ensure safety and desired results.
- Establish and maintain an appropriate 5-S program.
- Train and develop shift personnel to maximize operational efficiencies.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Process, and Tooling teams on issues beyond the shift team’s skill level.
- Lead Continuous Process Improvements to reduce waste, improve processes, enhance housekeeping, and achieve cost savings.
- Ensure adequate supplies are on hand for smooth operations and requisition additional supplies as needed.
- Drive documentation processes for road maps, change-over checklists, and batch records.
- Communicate expectations and changes effectively with groups, individuals, and departments.
- Develop rosters for daily production and contingency plans for unforeseen changes.
- Use the production schedule and priority list to identify and collect proper documentation for job and tool changes.
Qualifications
- Excellent computer capabilities, including MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate accurately with individuals and teams, fostering cohesion.
- Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated diplomacy in day-to-day interactions with a commitment to task urgency.
- Ability to work independently and contribute as a value-add to plant team efforts.
Pay
Starts at $21/hr.
Schedule
12-hour shift: 8:00 AM to 8:15 PM. Week 1: 3 days; Week 2: 4 days.
