Location: Waco Prepared Foods Facility, Waco, Texas

About the Role

At Pilgrim’s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first. Safety measures include COVID-19 precautions such as daily temperature screens, social distancing, face coverings, and enhanced cleaning. The primary responsibility of this position is to set up operations and coordinate the production process on the raw side of production.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate equipment as necessary.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Verify quality checks throughout the shift.
  • Complete necessary reports.
  • Make adjustments to processes to maintain production specifications.
  • Train all new employees.
  • Perform other related duties to support production demands as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer experience is required.
  • Certifications required: Fryer Operator, Bread/Batter Operator, SAP, HACCP, and Pallet Jack Driver.

Training

  • All employees must attend employee and safety orientation before starting duties.
  • Supervisors will provide further workplace orientation, including introductions, work assignments, and safety procedures.
  • A training buddy may be assigned to assist new employees.
  • Supervisors track employee progress and performance, including a probationary evaluation period.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to cold, wet, and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Very loud noise levels in the work environment.

Protective Equipment

  • Required to wear: hair net, beard net (if applicable), gloves, smock, slip-proof boots, ear protection, and fryer gloves as needed.
