Production Lead

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Learn and understand manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures.
• Direct production personnel to ensure timely production adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Work independently and lead employees to meet production schedule and quality standards.
• Operate and change tools for a shape press, set up equipment, analyze discrepancies, and implement corrective plans.
• Train and support new and current employees.
• Create jobs, print job travelers, issue materials, and report quantities in PeopleSoft.
• Lay out orders to maximize yield and reduce scrap.
• Report plant metrics and verify equipment set-up before and during production runs.
• Monitor equipment, report malfunctions, assist maintenance, and make adjustments.
• Maintain work logs and complete required reports.
• Bundle, wrap, stack, pack, assemble, and label material according to production instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Drive safety culture and be trained in general safety and Quality System Awareness.
• Perform other functions as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment required.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Able to use simple math and basic hand-held measuring tools.
• Computer literate; proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP systems.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Light to moderate physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level.
• Tolerant of temperature changes for the entire shift.
• Deals with stressful situations professionally.
• Able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Safely operates assigned machinery.
