Production Group Leader (1st shift)
ADUSA Distribution is the distribution company of Ahold Delhaize USA, providing distribution services to one of the largest grocery retail supply chains in the nation. The facility handles a mix of product types, including fresh, frozen, grocery, and health and beauty care items, supporting the evolution to an integrated self-distribution model serving leading omnichannel grocery brands.
About the role
As Production Group Leader, you will lead and facilitate shipping and/or receiving crew, participate in the process as needed, and assist in the operation of departments. You will perform workflow coordination and administrative duties to ensure a successful workplace, including daily operations of selection, replenishment, and stocking within the distribution center.
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties and act as department supervisor in their absence.
- Perform workflow/load coordination to ensure properly operating department.
- Plan, organize, delegate, and follow up on associates' job duties.
- Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ensure all areas of responsibility run safely, orderly, and effectively.
- Assist the supervisor with interviewing and hiring new associates (if applicable).
- Perform shipping and/or receiving tasks while ensuring crew tasks meet standards.
- Assist in training other shipping and receiving associates on required tasks.
- Ensure the crew understands and follows safe work practices.
- Recommend modifications to procedures or processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with ADUSA Distribution standards for accuracy, safety, and productivity.
- Provide feedback to associates on personal performance.
Requirements
- Able to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 60 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (e.g., cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).
Qualifications
- High School Education (preferred).
- Certified on powered industrial equipment where applicable (preferred).
- Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment (preferred).
- Computer literacy.
