About the role

The Production Lift Operator 2 brings all required materials to the line and properly packages, labels, and stages all finished products so that it is ready for shipment while further developing their skill set to include other tasks. This position ensures internal quality standards are met for pallets before being shipped to the customer and serves as a vital supply chain for production staff by bringing all raw materials to the production line. The role must be knowledgeable in and follow all procedures needed to ensure the proper, safe, and efficient operations of a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Supplies lines with raw materials, ensuring all materials for the production line are continuously stocked and available to prevent production delays.
  • Wraps and stages skids of the finished product to be moved to the warehouse for storage while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Understands and completes scrap reports, including weighing and submitting them to the Team Manager.
  • Understands proper packaging, how to wrap and read labels, and correct applicable uses.
  • Labels and wraps unused raw materials before placing them back into inventory.
  • Cross-trains in shipping to learn receiving duties, including unloading cores, using dock levelers, unloading a pallet truck, and other related tasks with supervision.
  • Performs basic housekeeping tasks throughout the shift in the assigned area.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned by management, including filling the roles of Line Operator when staffing needs require.

Requirements

  • One and a half years of relevant forklift experience with demonstrated proficiency and safety, including passing Paragon Films internal certification process.
  • Thoroughly trained and demonstrated proficiency at performing Line Operator duties within Paragon Films.
  • Technical aptitude to understand machinery and systems within a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to gain an understanding of software, scanning functions, data entry, and other basic computer tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment while adapting to a fast-paced environment and rapid changes.
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills combined with good problem-solving skills.
  • Practice and promote teamwork within the organization.
  • Internal customer service skills.
  • High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality, with the ability to be on call as needed for maintenance issues.
  • Understanding and ability to communicate using the English language in both written and spoken form.
  • Basic mathematic skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use hands, including fingers, to hold, touch, see, feel, grip, squeeze, push, and pull.
  • Ability to perform pushing, pulling, and forward exertion on a regular basis.
  • Ability to have an overhead extension with arms on a regular basis.
  • Ability to use enhanced levels of manual dexterity with arms and hands.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously on a concrete floor for 12-hour shifts.
  • Ability to stand, crouch, stoop, bend, and squat frequently.
  • Ability to kneel occasionally.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally.
  • Ability to twist at the hip and waist area on a regular basis.
  • Ability to rotate the neck to look backward, up, down, and sideways on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work on elevated platforms.
  • Ability to climb on uneven surfaces occasionally.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 45-55 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.
  • Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person, and over a paging system.
  • Ability to meet requirements of and utilize all PPE when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints.

Environmental Conditions

  • Works inside in heat or cold, in a moderately loud environment.
  • Required to use PPE while performing job functions.

Schedule

  • Work involves overtime, shift rotations, and schedule changes.
  • Requires adherence to deadlines and project completion deadlines.
  • 12-hour shifts on a concrete floor.
