Production Foreman

Job Summary

Tuff Shed is seeking a Production Foreman to lead and coordinate fabrication assignments, ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards are met. The role involves overseeing production teams, managing materials, and maintaining equipment.

About the Role

This role plays a crucial part in the Factory store’s success, focusing on production accuracy, labor management, and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules all fabrication assignments
• Ensures work is properly assigned and completed with Tuff Shed’s quality, productivity, and safety specifications
• Partners with direct supervisor and Shop Specialist to review production schedules, product deficiencies, labor performance, and other needs
• Ensures only company-certified employees operate forklifts and other tools/equipment
• Implements Tuff Shed's "housekeeping" standards and ensures compliance
• Ensures tools/equipment are maintained in safe and good working condition
• Leads daily production team meetings
• Pack Accuracy & Labor: Ensures PACK certified employees inspect every building, stack products, and prepare for loading and assembly
• Partners with Shop Specialist to ensure products are designed/built to Tuff Shed specifications
• Covers sub-contractor loading, determines root cause of all deficiencies, and assigns/reassigns workers as needed
• Communicates results to Prefab team and identifies staffing needs and individual performance to management team
• Oversees the handling/storage of materials, accounts for unused materials, restocks, and minimizes waste
• Maintains inventory levels of all stock items, monitors and inspects raw and finished goods, and participates in the Cycle Count process
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Ensures all Prefab team members are trained and certified for their assigned work, provides work direction, inspects work, and resolves issues
• Creates and leads a positive culture that promotes good morale, participates in the selection process for new hires, and assists in disciplinary actions

Requirements

• Work experience as a tradesperson or supervisor
• Knowledge of construction practices and terminology
• Ability to use standard construction hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Understanding of work optimization concepts and techniques
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate clear expectations
• Ability to train others to meet desired outcomes
• Ability to use arithmetic and mathematical tools as they apply to Tuff Shed business
• Effective communication skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant experience

Skills

• Working safely and keeping others safe in an industrial type setting
• Ability to read and understand instructions given orally, in writing, and/or diagram form
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Ability to produce and implement effective solutions to problems
