About the role

We are seeking a Production Floater to join our team at our Merit Steel location in Kouts, Indiana. The Production Floater is a dynamic and adaptable team member responsible for performing a variety of duties across multiple departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate crane to clean and coat rod.
• Titrating all appropriate tanks and adding chemicals and water to maintain tank level and concentrations.
• Maintain concentrations, temperatures, and liquid levels.
• Dump and fill hot and high-pressure rinse tanks.
• Move steel rod in from rod yard.
• Stock rod in wire drawing after cleaned.
• Rotate rod for first in first out usage.
• Fill out cleaning sheets.
• Clean rod types and quantities assigned on cleaning sheet.
• Inspect rod-coating quality after cleaned.
• Inspect crane and fill out inspection sheet.
• Inspect fork truck and pay loader and fill out inspection sheet.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Practice good safety techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Knowledge of industrial cleaning processes.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.

Schedule

This weekend shift will be available for 9 to 12 months. After that period, employees will transition to a Monday through Friday shift.
