Production Finance Associate, U.S. TV Series

Amazon MGM Studios is seeking a Production Finance Associate to join the Finance Team for the Series TV division, supporting shows such as Fallout, Reacher, and Off Campus. This role supports production finance and studio operations, offering ownership of production accounting and finance functions for the Scripted TV team.

About the role

This position assists in managing production finance functions throughout the production lifecycle, including overseeing Production Accounting teams and the month-end financial reporting process. The successful candidate will operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, global environment, influencing senior business leaders through effective communication, logical reasoning, and strategic thinking. The role requires collaboration with Creative, Development, Production, Legal, Business Affairs, and Finance teams, and the ability to liaise between Amazon business teams and production personnel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact between multiple original series productions and the Amazon Studios finance team.
• Onboard production accounting teams during pre-production to ensure adherence to accounting manual guidelines.
• Work closely with production accounting teams to ensure compliance with production accounting guidelines.
• Collaborate with show accountants to drive accurate, complete, and timely cost reporting, asset management, and production support.
• Review production budgets, cost reports, trial balances, and petty cash reconciliations prepared by show accountants.
• Collaborate with Line Producers, Production Managers, Production Accounting Staff, and the Amazon Production team to prepare financial reports and ensure proper account reconciliation.
• Oversee production incentive workflow and ensure receipt of tax credits or cash.
• Manage production company onboarding and production payroll/accounting software setups.
• Manage cash flow and funding schedules for assigned projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).
• 5+ years of experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and database management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Highly motivated, analytical, proactive, and self-sufficient.
• Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Ability to research, conclude on, and communicate technical accounting topics.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced knowledge of production accounting software: EP Smart Accounting, Vista, PSL, MediaWeb, and Greenslate.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.

Pay

Base salary range: $72,600 – $122,900 USD annually. Additional compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
