Production Engineer - J0050613

Description Summary

This role executes production engineering strategies and tactical plans at the Astemo Berea Plant under the guidance of department leadership. It collaborates with the leadership team to establish priorities and objectives and ensures their effective implementation. This role supports production engineering and acts as a strategic partner to other departments.

Essential Functions

• Support senior engineers in designing, planning, and coordinating production-related projects.
• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes with a focus on quality, efficiency, cost, and equipment performance.
• Aid in identifying and resolving production issues related to equipment, technology, and workflow.
• Collaborate with departments such as Quality, Maintenance, and Production to ensure smooth implementation of process changes or improvements.
• Research and communicate with suppliers to determine equipment and material specifications; assist in purchasing decisions.
• Evaluate new or existing products and equipment to ensure they meet technical and quality standards.
• Use technical knowledge to troubleshoot problems and recommend effective solutions.
• Read, interpret, and create technical drawings and schematics as needed.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with team members and other departments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must be able to perform duties utilizing current company software applications (including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and current ERP system).
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required.
• This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• 1-3 years of related experience

Required Work Conditions

• Work 40 hours per week, as well as any required overtime.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required as needed.
• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to office and laboratory areas.
