Production Engineer

About the role

Sulzer is a leading engineering company seeking experienced professionals to join our global team. This role involves designing and developing mechanical systems and components, applying engineering knowledge to support system planning, testing, and implementation. The position is open for both Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Engineer: Coordinate between the machine shop, quotation department, and customers. On-site position with up to 10% field service work. Dual role involving hands-on tasks and office responsibilities. Requires training as part of onboarding process.
• Electrical Engineer: Split time between engineering team objectives, field service, field service reports, and shop engineering support. Dual role with hands-on responsibilities and other engineering tasks. Requires training as part of onboarding process.

Requirements

• Mechanical Engineer: Preferred 3 years' experience in rotating equipment repairs. Acceptable experience includes rotating equipment manufacturing, package design and assembly, vibration analysis, and field service-overhauls. Proficient with CAD software: AutoDesk or Solidworks. Knowledge of rolling element bearings, sleeve babbitt bearings, oil seals, vibration spectrums, alignment, micrometers, and seal and bearing clearances.
• Electrical Engineer: Preferred 0 – 4 years' experience in electrical engineering, specifically electric motor, generator repairs and design, transformer repair and design, switch gear design and diagnostics, power theory, operations of induction motors, synchronous motors, transformer principle, operation of semiconductors, winding insulation tests. Proficient in basic power theory.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineer: Undergraduate/Graduate Degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Electrical Engineer: Undergraduate/Graduate Degree in electrical engineering or related field.
