Production Engineer
General Statement of Responsibilities
Responsible for providing the engineering support to Plant production departments through continual improvement of machinery and processes.
Essential Duties
- Oversees development of improvements to existing processes.
- Captures projects between Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and other personnel to make these improvements.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems, and recommending corrective actions.
- Develops capital project objectives, writes project specifications, develops layouts, obtains quotations, and formulates proposal documents including summary of costs and benefits, project schedule, and spending plan.

- Writes standard work instructions using Microsoft Office products with established templates for setup, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and lockout/tagout of new and existing production equipment.
- Develops/recommends quick changeover methods and tooling.
- Analyzes methods and develops concepts to reduce direct, indirect, and set-up labor.
- Analyzes, recommends, and coordinates implementation of profit improvement programs.
- Analyzes material handling (current state) and recommends improved methods and equipment.
- Knowledge of work measurement methodology. Assists with development of new or updating existing production standards.
- Knowledge of safe manufacturing practices necessary for recommendation and implementation of safety programs.
- Knowledge of Statistical Problem Solving principles and application.
- Able to interact with other departments and personnel and natural ability to be a team player.
- Supports the Plant quality systems goals/improvements & productivity goals/improvements within the scope of the job.
- Supports the Plant safety programs/goals within the scope of the job.
Regular and Predictive Attendance
Regular and predictable attendance. Compliance with Company, Corporate, State, & Federal regulations.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in an appropriate engineering discipline (Manufacturing, Production, Mechanical, Industrial) is preferred; or a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Technology plus zero to two years of manufacturing experience.
Experience: Prefer 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience.
Mathematical: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, groups of employees, or outside vendors.
Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.

Starting Wage
Base starting wage is $63,000 - $72,000/annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to: job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At NTN, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
