Production Engineer

About the role

The Production Engineer position at Bakelite involves process optimization, ensuring safety, productivity, and cost efficiency. Key responsibilities include leading the production team, managing capital projects, conducting incident investigations, training, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production organization in a safe and compliant manner to return maximum value to the company.
• Optimize processes for Hexamine, Formaldehyde, and Aqua ammonia.
• Achieve customer expectations for product quality and delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement through process and plant improvement initiatives.
• Ensure safety compliance and lead safety-related activities.
• Participate in quality and environmental incident investigations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in plant engineering or production duties in chemical process industries.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Expertise with MS Office and Incuity Process Control applications.
• Customer focus and ability to adjust efforts to meet internal and external customer needs.
• Ability to address multiple priorities/projects with minimum direction.
• Experience with Six Sigma and Green Belt certification.
• SAP knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willingness to undergo a drug test and background investigation.
