Production Designer

About the role

We are seeking a Production Designer to support the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Visual Information Production Center (VIPC).

Responsibilities

• Precision-focused production and finishing of all Agency collateral, maintaining top-tier quality in both print and digital outputs.
• Creative design and development of print-ready layouts with production output using large-format printers and high-end digital color printing equipment to produce posters, signage, displays, reports, bound documents, and other related deliverables.
• Operate and maintain Xerox Versant 180 (or newer model) digital color presses, various binding/punching/cropping devices, HP large-format plotters, Primera Bravo series DVD replicators, and Fargo DTC series badge printers.
• Verify accuracy of technical documentation to ensure completeness, adherence to editorial and government specifications, strategic messaging, branding, typography, content balance, and style format.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware malfunctions and complex file compatibility issues under tight deadlines.
• Demonstrate initiative, strong project management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to adapt and support other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts discipline plus 3 years of related work experience or an associate’s degree in graphic arts discipline plus 5 years of related work experience.
• Active SECRET security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) on Windows 11 (PC) systems.
• Ability to multitask with exceptional organizational skills.
• Self-directed, efficient, and dependable in a high-demand environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Meticulous proofreading and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoD programs.
