Reports to: Director of Pirates Digital Media

About the role

Production Crew Member at Pirates Digital Media, supporting campus events and productions with flexible, event-driven scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support: set up, operate, monitor, and safely strike cameras, audio equipment, tripods, cables, computers, and related production tools.
• Carry out assigned roles for live event coverage, including athletics, campus programs, ceremonies, interviews, and promotional content.
• Capture clear footage and audio that present NCMC, its people, and its programs accurately and positively for storytelling and promotion.
• Execute team assignments by arriving prepared and on time, communicating clearly, following the production plan, and supporting teammates.
• Ensure quality and care by checking equipment and signal flow, identifying problems early, protecting PDM assets, organizing files and gear, and reporting damage or technical issues promptly.
• Learn new tools, accept coaching, solve problems, and represent PDM and NCMC through professional behavior, communication, appearance, and work ethic.

• Willingness to learn on the job, ask good questions, solve problems, and take ownership of assigned work.
• Dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions in a live-event environment.
• Clear, respectful communication and the maturity to represent PDM and NCMC well.
• Interest in cameras, audio, editing, graphics, live streaming, social media, sports production, or digital storytelling is helpful; prior professional experience is not required.
• Flexible availability for assigned events, including some evenings or weekends; athletic-event assignments may last up to five hours.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, move around event spaces, handle cables, and lift or carry production equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
