Production Coordinator
About the Role
The Production Coordinator oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely delivery of materials, product, and services to Triple-S Steel customers in their territory. This role ensures Workplace Health and Safety requirements are met and maintained according to Federal, State, and Local laws, along with all company-issued training.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Production Supervisor in assigning warehouse personnel to appropriate work areas to meet deadlines.
- Reviews schedules, determines workforce requirements, and monitors productivity to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Reports stock issues to appropriate personnel and provides a weekly summary of stock plates of all grades.
- Assists in retrieving material from other locations, such as the outside yard, if no one else is available.
- Communicates with management about any issues within the warehouse.
- Ensures housekeeping and general clean-up of the warehouse and work area.
- Assists with safety duties and participates in continuous improvement and monthly safety meetings.
- Serves as backup for Warehouse Supervisors, Production, and Admin departments.
- Enforces all established Triple-S Steel policies, including Quality Policy, Security, Safety, Health, Environmental, Attendance, and others.
- Uses AutoCAD for drawings in conjunction with Pronest proficiency.
- Coordinates material usage and ensures product and parts inspection.
- Handles production scheduling for the plate shop and maintenance scheduling of equipment, including costing reports for parts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Blueprint reading, basic math, and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge or exposure to AutoCAD.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and anticipate potential problems.
- Excellent communication skills for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external customers.
