ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compile and prepare information related to production sequences and schedules, such as production progress, materials inventories, and materials used.
  • Review inventory and distribute materials according to production schedules.
  • Cook up and coordinate the flow of materials within or between departments according to production schedule.
  • Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Confer with department supervisors to determine progress of production lines and shipment schedules, compile reports on progress of work, inventory levels, and production problems.
  • Verify production output against what was scheduled and resolve problems for out-of-tolerance discrepancies.
  • Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Communicate the production planning status daily to Materials Manager, production personnel, and department supervision.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to labor or material shortages, machine malfunction, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, production, and engineering.

    • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Required education - minimum high school diploma. Two to five years of experience or related experience. Working knowledge of MRP systems.
    • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical machines and in atmospheric conditions occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate except for when in the production facilities. Required PPE: When in the production facility; Safety glasses w/ side shields and protective footwear with steel toe are required. Hearing protection is required in designated areas.
