Responsibilities

• Accurately codes medical procedures and services according to industry standards and regulations.
• Ensures compliance with healthcare coding guidelines and regulations.
• Reviews and audits existing codes to ensure accuracy and adherence to coding policies.
• Works closely with medical staff to understand and apply appropriate codes.
• Updates and maintains knowledge of coding changes and updates.
• Participates in training sessions to enhance coding skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Medical Coding, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other relevant coding systems.
• Proficiency in using medical coding software and electronic health records (EHR).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Current certification in medical coding from a recognized organization.
• Experience with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
