About the Role
Directs and assists bed crew in setting up and pouring a bed, ensuring that all cables, steel pieces, and other materials are properly placed.
Responsibilities
- Daily review of shop cards for the day’s pour and plan required preparations to set up bed.
- Communicates with appropriate support employees to ensure all necessary materials are brought to the bed.
- Directs the crew as to the correct locations of all wood, steel, and other materials.
- Continually checks the layout of the bed with daily shop cards throughout the shift to ensure accurate construction of the concrete member.
- Directs and assists employees to ensure the concrete member has the correct finish.
- Ensures crew members appropriately strip the bed, cleaning, oiling, placing bulkheads, plates, rebar, etc., throughout the shift.
- Helps or assists with daily toolbox, production, and/or safety meetings.
- Works as a production team member by being responsible for any additional duties the Production Supervisor describes as needed to meet production deadlines.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Previous experience in finishing concrete is required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to:
- Outside weather conditions.
- Moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional wet and/or humid conditions and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
