Production Associate (night shift)
About the role
We are seeking a Production Associate to support our Automotive business at Leggett & Platt Incorporated. Our automotive products include seating support and comfort systems, motors, actuators, and massage systems, serving transportation manufacturers and their suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for setting up and controlling the operation of single or multiple production machines for the manufacturing of products.
- Must work overtime when necessary.
- Work in teams on continuous improvement projects.
- Operate a molding machine to process the molding of formed wire into seating components.
- Ensure quality of produced products and notify appropriate personnel if necessary.
- Troubleshoot molding problems.
- Start, set, hang, and properly mold molds.
- Change nozzles, nozzle tips, nozzle bands, and barrel bands as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Sufficient dexterity and mechanical understanding to operate an automated machine.
- Able to understand both verbal and written instructions.
- Able to identify proper product quality.
- Able to lift objects not exceeding 70 pounds.
- Able to roll drums weighing up to 500 pounds.
- Basic understanding of and full compliance with all standard safety practices.
- Able to participate in ongoing skills improvement classes focused on TS-16949, Kaizen, and SMED.
Qualifications
- Monday to Thursday from 4:45 pm to 3:15 am or from 6:45 pm to 5:15 am.
Skills
- Basic understanding of hand tools.
