Responsibilities
- Operate hot pans while maintaining all aspects of the kitchen cooking process, including following operation formulas according to customer requirements.
- Perform daily preparation, mixing, and blending of sugar solutions and ingredients.
- Maintain 5S standards, clean and organize the work area, and perform changeovers (SSOP).
- Complete HACCP forms and document material consumption.
- Inspect and prep equipment prior to start-up.
- Fill out material worksheets, production reports, batch log sheets, and inventory ID sheets for all production in the kitchen.
- Report any problems (equipment, material shortages, formulas, and employees) to the supervisor as they occur.
- Report scrap according to procedures and ensure efficient production.
- Record all materials used in the production batch order and document all materials.
- Keep the entire work area clean and organized at all times, including maintaining cleanliness and operation of equipment.
- Follow all procedures related to job responsibilities and report any equipment, quality, formula, or material shortage problems as they occur.
- Perform general production duties such as boxing produced orders and preparing them for shipping.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, and/or equivalent education.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to convert measures into weights, knowledge of linear measurement, percentages, and ratios.
- Strong communication skills, computer skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate in English and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanical skills to troubleshoot and/or make adjustments as necessary to ensure a quality product.
- Ability to stand on a concrete floor for long periods, bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, and lift up to 53 lbs.
- Willingness to wear proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines, and maintain good attendance.
- Willingness to work extra hours on weekdays and weekends, including mandatory overtime when needed.
- Computer literacy.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Standing on a concrete floor for extended time periods.
- Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Required to work weekends during peak season.
- Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
