Production Associate Day Shift

Cornerstone Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products for residential and low-rise non-residential buildings in North America. We serve residential and commercial customers across the new construction and Repair & Remodel (R&R) markets with a portfolio including vinyl windows, vinyl siding, stone veneer, metal roofing, metal wall systems, and metal accessories.

About the role

Start time: 7:00 AM. The Production Operator is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of component parts for the final assembly of windows. This role involves tasks across various departments.

Responsibilities

• Operate various hand tools to manually build window units
• Lift windows onto build tables and roller racks
• Move carts in and out of production work areas
• Operate various types of saws to cut wood necessary to mull units
• Operate fabrication (punch press) dies
• Apply hardware to units with appropriate tooling
• Operate stretch wrapping equipment
• Utilize production reports to assist in production planning
• Ensure overall quality of work by performing quality audits and engaging in problem-solving activities
• Observe applicable safety, health, and environmental guidelines; wear all required personal protective equipment
• Participate in cross-rotation with other operators as needed
• Support cross-training initiatives, including assisting other employees with training
• Perform all other tasks assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements

• Ability to measure lengths accurately to 1/32”
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Able to convert fractions to decimals
• Ability to read and interpret common statistical data, productivity reports, and written instructions
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Capable of using computerized equipment

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a continual basis
• Able to lift above shoulder height and below the waist
• Stand, walk, and work on concrete surfaces for long periods of time
• Ability to move carts in and out of production areas
