About the role
While reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for packing products in a quick, safe, and efficient manner. Excellent attendance is crucial to the team's success. This role requires a proven ability to perform in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, collaborate across departments, identify defects on the packing line, and maintain a strong commitment to quality and safety standards. You will take pride in your hands-on abilities, analytical thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail while supporting ThermoSafe’s operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Safety is the #1 priority at all times
- Pack products accurately and efficiently to meet production requirements
- Collaborate closely with production teams and other departments
- Maintain a high regard for 5S and workplace organization standards
- Troubleshoot production issues and respond effectively to changing situations
- Monitor and report on the quality of manufactured products
- Consistently move product and place it in designated pack-out locations throughout the shift
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times
- Perform all duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager
- Support ThermoSafe’s quality and safety policies and procedures
- Assist other departments as needed to meet operational demands
- Work overtime as required
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Strong sense of urgency with a "get it done" attitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Working knowledge of manufactured products and quality requirements
- Reliable, committed, self-motivated, and quality focused
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
- Ability to perform repetitive duties, including climbing stairs and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining craftsmanship and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous forklift certification and experience safely operating a forklift
- Experience with 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience supporting quality and safety programs in a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to identify defects and maintain high quality standards
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Regular standing and walking throughout the workday
- Repetitious duties in a manufacturing environment
- Frequent use of hands and arms to perform job duties
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, and hearing
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment that is not temperature controlled
- Exposure to varying indoor temperatures and seasonal conditions typical of an industrial production setting
- Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and elevated noise levels
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory and hearing protection, may be required based on job assignments and work area conditions
