Production Associate

About the Role

To assist the Operator and Assistant Operator in the setup and operation of equipment to produce corrugated boxes that meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and use Factory Order & Print Card to determine proper equipment settings.
• Assess if equipment is operating properly.
• Set up and adjust equipment, including:
  • Stacker installation
  • Dies, attachments, and printing plates
  • Pull rolls, collars, and straps
  • Scores, heads, and blade combinations
  • Prefeeder and Lead Edge Feeder
• Check stock for correct size and adjust equipment for proper pressures and register.
• Operate glue and ink systems.
• Set folding rails, squaring section, and ejector.

Safety Procedures

• Read and understand safety rules and housekeeping guidelines.
• Receive training in proper operating procedures, including:
  • Lockout procedures
  • Hearing protection
  • Safety shoes
  • Moving machinery
  • All stop buttons
  • All nip points
  • Conveyor safety
  • Lifting and pushing/pulling
  • Safety guards, gates, and chains

Housekeeping

• Perform daily clean-up of the work area.
• Dump trash as needed.
• Perform extra clean-up during downtime.
• Follow the cleaning schedule listed in the Safety Manual.
• Keep scrap picked up.

Requirements

• Candidates must undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer but before starting employment.
