Production Associate

About the Role

Under general supervision, this position performs various assembly, building, and production activities using hand tools to assemble basic and complex electrical units. Responsibilities may also include building and assembling large frames for motor control centers and packing finished units/structures for shipment.

Schedule

2nd shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with daily and weekend overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Wire starter buckets, soft starts, and drives.
• Build and assemble starter units, drives, Gate 700s, and Gate 800s.
• Pack finished units for shipment.
• Read and interpret bills of material.
• Transport shipping splits to the work area using cranes or dollies.
• Understand torque values for each assembly.
• Build and install parts according to assembly requirements.
• Use a pallet jack to retrieve necessary items for job duties.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of cabling, diagrams, drawings, and unit specifications.
• Accurately test and troubleshoot units prior to sending them to QC for final inspection.
• Participate in general housekeeping (5S) duties within the work area.
• Perform general preventative maintenance tasks on area equipment as needed.
• Cross-train and rotate through various stations within the department to provide additional support.
• Conduct on-the-job training for newly hired and/or transferred employees.
• Report material and equipment problems to appropriate personnel.
• Participate in meetings to resolve production issues and interface with other shifts and support groups as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Entry-level position; no prior experience required.
• General knowledge of manufacturing and hand tools (preferred but not required).

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to safely lift up to 22 lbs. regularly throughout the shift.
• Prolonged periods of standing required for the duration of the shift.
• Work may require specialized safety equipment.

Pay

The expected pay range for this U.S.-based position is $18.95 to $28.45 per hour. This range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The position is eligible for overtime pay and may include premium pay or differentials, depending on location. Individual pay is determined by factors such as performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
