Production Associate

Georgia-Pacific’s Asheboro, NC corrugated packaging facility is hiring Entry-Level Production Associates. Trainees learn the full box-making process alongside experienced team members and may advance into various roles within the plant or across Georgia-Pacific and Koch facilities.

Pay

• Starting rate: $21.00 per hour
• 2nd-shift differential: +$2.00 per hour
• 3rd-shift differential: +$1.00 per hour

Schedule

• Candidates must be flexible to work any shift, including overtime, holidays, and weekends.
• First 2 weeks of orientation are on 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
• After orientation, permanent assignment to 2nd (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM; runs Monday night through Saturday morning at 7 AM).
• Plant uses a points-based attendance program.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to defined standards and product specifications.
• Monitor and enter data into computer control systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production.
• Perform basic asset care: routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of work area.
• Work as a team to meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals.
• Operate and work around mobile equipment.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day in a loud, noisy, industrial, high-volume environment.

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, or military environment OR completion of post-high-school education in a manufacturing/industrial program.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device.
• Experience working in the corrugated industry.
• Two or more years of work in a high-speed, team-based manufacturing environment (picker-packer, dedicated assembly, and warehousing not applicable).
