Primary Responsibilities
- Operate secondary processing equipment including presses, clippers, molders, and other equipment within work cell according to process sheets and routings.
- Cook up work activities with other operators on a rotating basis within the work cell and perform required SMED press die changeovers as needed.
- Visually inspect all parts produced within cell for acceptable quality standards.
- Properly pack parts produced in appropriate shipping containers and label all containers with barcodes as required by the standard operating procedures.
- Perform all charting and measuring requirements such as scrap reporting, labor reporting, SPC charting, and make appropriate entries in Kronos system, etc.
- Participate in team decision making process and attend team meetings as required using basic problem-solving techniques.
- Perform any preventative maintenance required for the equipment in the work cell including SMED press die pin lubrication.
Education And Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in automotive, production, or manufacturing work.
- Basic math & computer skills.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
- Ability to perform required physical demands of the essential functions of the job.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Standing a minimum of 8 hours.
- Ability to make decisions on quality of products they produce. Form, fit and function of parts.
Formal Requirements
- Thorough understanding of IATF 16949 requirements, plant Operating Procedures, Process Flow, basic Kaizen, and manning to pieces per man hour.
Work Environment/Work Conditions
- Production Floor environment.
- Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor.
- Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury.
Additional Information
- Starting pay is $20.00/hr with 2nd and 3rd shift premium of $.50/hr.
